What we collect, and what we don't.
The people who use this Hub are navigating a vulnerable moment. We designed our data practices around their safety, not around what's convenient to collect.
What we do not collect
The public intake form on this site does not ask for -- and our team does not require -- your offense history, charge type, release date, supervision status (parole or probation), Social Security number, or medical history.
A navigator may discuss those details with you privately and by your choice, if they are relevant to finding a housing match. That conversation is between you and the navigator.
What the public intake form collects
- Your first name (or a name you choose to share)
- A way to reach you -- phone or email
- Optional: general housing preferences (neighborhood, gender-specific housing)
- Optional: a brief note you choose to share
This information is used only to connect you with a navigator or housing provider. It is not sold, shared with law enforcement, disclosed to landlords without your permission, or used for any purpose other than helping you find housing.
Housing provider listings
Provider information (organization name, address, contact, availability) is collected from the providers themselves. We verify it on a regular schedule. Providers can update or remove their listing at any time.
Provider contact information is displayed in the public directory. If a provider asks to be removed, we will remove their listing promptly.
Who can see intake submissions
Intake requests are visible only to authorized navigators and coordinators with a role in the Milwaukee Reentry Housing coalition. Student workers do not have access to intake data.
We do not share intake data with housing providers until you have been connected with a navigator and given permission for a referral.
Data retention
Intake submissions are retained for 90 days after the last activity on your case. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us at the address below. Provider listings are retained as long as the provider is active in the network.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising trackers or sell data to any third party. We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how many people are using the directory and where the gaps are -- for example, how many searches returned no results (which helps us identify resource gaps).
No personally identifiable information is included in analytics.
Your rights
- You can request to see what information we have about you.
- You can request correction of incorrect information.
- You can request deletion of your intake record at any time.
- You can withdraw consent to share your information with a provider or navigator.
